Stone Floor Stripping and Refinishing
Stone Floor Refinishing Process
PREPARATION: Special attention will be given to all areas that need to be taped and protected. Stains and spots will be hand scrubbed and scraped to remove all blemishes possible.
MACHINE CLEANING : All stone flooring will be machine stripped using a 160lb. Mercury 175 r.p.m. floor scrubber equipped with a .46 grit silicon tynex brush. This stiff nylon brush with different length bristles will completely strip the stone flooring removing all wax, dirt, and grime. All edges and corners will be hand scrubbed. Special attention will be given to all the grout . This cleaning method will not harm the stone flooring and all of the cleaning chemicals are biodegradable and environmentally safe.
CLEANUP AND RINSE: After the stone floors are stripped clean all of the solutions are removed. The floors are then given a complete mopping and thorough rinse. All grouting will be rinsed twice to insure as clean a floor as possible.
VACUUMING: When the stone floors have completely dried they are vacuumed with an Electrolux Olympia Vacuum cleaner with a 3 layer dust filter. This will insure a perfectly clean floor for the application of the stone floor sealers and finishes. Other options include Crystallizing the stone flooring.
FINISHING: If applicable now that all the stone floors are clean and dust free the first coats of Spartan Shineline will be applied. This sealer will take approximately 20-30 minutes to dry. Spartan Sunnyside Finish will then be applied to all the stone flooring. As the porosity of stone flooring varies additional coats may be needed or the stone floor may need to be buffed at 2000 r.p.m. to achieve maximum shine.CRYSTALLIZING or REVITRIFICATION: This is a process similar to spray buffing that uses a weighted floor machine equipped with a steel wool pad. Crystallizer is sprayed onto a small section of the floor and buffed with a steel wool pad until gone. The heat generated by the steel wool pad causes a chemical reaction between the crystallizing formula and the calcium in the stone creating a new chemically enhanced surface.
The CleanPro® process will clean and shine your
stone floors as well as providing a protective finish.

The first step in developing a floor maintenance plan
is to determine the current condition of your floors.CleanPro® is the professional floor restoration company to diagnose
all these and other problems and give you an evaluation of what the
present condition is and what is needed to bring
your floors back to their original condition.
Untreated floors can stain very easily.
Treating these stains can be expensive and sometimes not even possible.
To eliminate or reduce the possibility of staining it is essential that
your floors be properly protected with a good quality impregnator or sealer.
An impregnator/sealer is a chemical that penetrates the floor and helps
to repel water, dye, dirt, and other substances from causing a stain.
Since the impregnator penetrates the floor
(rather than coating it like wax) it allows the stone to "breath".How Often Should Floors Be Polished?
High speed buffing should be done on a regular basis.
Once the finish goes dull it takes three to four times longer to
bring it back. Your polishing schedule will be determined by how well the
floor is cared for on a daily basis and the level of traffic on the floor.
With heavier traffic levels, commercial sites will need
high speed buffing nightly, weekly, or monthly .Residential floors
can usually be done on yearly or twice yearly
schedule due to significantly lower traffic levels.
Over time high traffic areas may become too worn
down to polish to a deep shine.Hire The Right Company With Over 30 Years Experience
