Limestone Refinishing and Floor Care 

PREPARATION: Attention will be given to all areas that need to be taped off and protected. All spots, stains, and marks will be hand scrubbed and scraped to remove all blemishes possible. All grout lines will be pre-soaked with stripping solutions.
          

MACHINE STRIPPING : All Limestone flooring will be machine stripped clean, using a 160lb. Mercury 175 r.p.m. floor scrubber, equipped with a .46 grit silicon tynex brush. This stiff nylon brush, with different length bristles, will completely strip the Limestone floor removing  wax, dirt, and grime. All edges, corners and grout lines will be hand stripped clean. This stripping method will not harm the Limestone flooring. All of the cleaning chemicals are biodegradable and environmentally safe. Any Limestone flooring  with a Urethane base coating will need to be stripped using Zip-Strip.

CLEANUP AND RINSE: After the Limestone floors are stripped clean all of the solutions will be removed. The floors are then given a complete mopping and thorough rinse with a low ph neutralizing solution for maximum sealer adhesion.

VACUUMING: After the Limestone floors have completely dried they are vacuumed with an Electrolux Olympia Vacuum cleaner with a 3 layer dust filter. This will insure a perfectly   clean floor for the application of the Limestone floor sealer and Limestone floor finishes. At this point any finish or urethane left from the Limestone stripping will be hand sanded with 60 grit paper.

FINISHING: Now that all the Limestone floors are clean and dust free the first coat of Spartan Terra Glaze will be applied. This coat will take approximately 20-30 minutes to dry. The second coat will then be applied to all the Limestone  flooring. As the porosity varies with Limestone, additional coats may be needed, or the Limestone floor may need to be buffed at 2000 r.p.m. to achieve maximum shine
